Privacy Policy

This policy describes how personal information is handled in connection with the website lumosnetwork.online. It is written under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, because the site is published for readers in Australia. It describes what this site actually does, and nothing it does not do.

MSMM-SOU s.r.o. decides what appears on this site and is the organisation to contact about anything in this policy. There is no other party with control over the content or the data described below.
2. What is collected
The honest answer is very little, and it is worth being specific about each category.
2.1 Nothing is collected through the site itself
There is no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no account, no comment facility, no quiz and no chat widget anywhere on this website. There is no field in which anything can be typed. The site sets no cookies of its own, permits no third party to set cookies through it, and uses no local storage, session storage or browser fingerprinting. It loads no analytics, no advertising tags, no conversion pixels and no third-party scripts. No external host is contacted when a page on this site is loaded.
2.2 Server logs kept by the hosting provider
Like any website, this one is served by a hosting provider whose systems record ordinary technical logs when a page is requested. Those logs contain the requesting IP address, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the response status and the date and time. They are generated automatically by the web server, not by anything on the page, and they are not linked to any identity by this publisher.
2.3 What you choose to send by email
If you email info@lumosnetwork.online, the publisher receives your email address, the content of your message and anything else you include in it. This is the only circumstance in which personal information is provided to this publisher deliberately.
2.4 What is never collected
No payment information — nothing is sold on this site. No health, financial or sensitive information. No location data beyond the approximate geography implied by an IP address in a server log. No information about your browsing on other sites. No profile of any kind is built about any reader.
3. Why each category is held, and on what basis
Server logs are held for the security and technical operation of the site: identifying faults, diagnosing errors, and detecting abuse such as automated attacks. This is a necessary part of operating any website, and it is the purpose for which the information was collected under Australian Privacy Principle 3.
Email correspondence is held so the publisher can read and answer your message, apply a correction you have raised, and keep a record of corrections made to the site. It is used for nothing else, and it is never added to a marketing list, because none exists.
4. How long information is kept
- Server logs: retained by the hosting provider for up to 90 days from the date of the request, then deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course of the provider's log rotation.
- Email correspondence: retained for up to 24 months from the date of the last message in the exchange, then deleted. Where an email results in a correction to the site, a note of the correction and its date is kept without the correspondent's personal details.
Nothing is kept indefinitely, and no category is retained merely because it might one day be useful.
5. Disclosure to others, including outside Australia
Personal information is not sold, rented, traded or disclosed for marketing by this publisher, to anyone, in any circumstances.
Two disclosures do occur in the ordinary operation of the site, and both are named here:
- The hosting provider that serves the website necessarily processes the server log information described in section 2.2, on the publisher's behalf.
- An email provider necessarily processes messages sent to and from the contact address.
No advertising network, analytics provider, data broker or font service receives anything, because none is used. Specifically, this site does not use Google Analytics, Google Fonts, Microsoft advertising tags, Meta pixels, or any content delivery network.
Cross-border disclosure (Australian Privacy Principle 8). MSMM-SOU s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, and the hosting and email providers that process the information described above may be located outside Australia, including in the European Union. If you are in Australia, handling your personal information therefore involves disclosure to overseas recipients. By using this site or emailing the publisher you are informed of this; where required, the publisher takes reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the server is encrypted. Access to the hosting account and to the contact mailbox is limited to the publisher and protected by strong, unique credentials with multi-factor authentication where the provider supports it. Because the site collects nothing, there is no reader database to secure — which is a deliberate design choice and the most effective security measure available.
No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and the publisher does not claim otherwise.
7. Your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles
If you are in Australia, you may ask for access to any personal information held about you, and ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. In practice the only personal information likely to be held about you is an email you sent.
To make a request, email info@lumosnetwork.online. A request is acknowledged and answered within 30 days. No charge is made for access or correction.
If you are dissatisfied with how a privacy matter has been handled, raise it with the publisher first at the address above. If it remains unresolved, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which regulates privacy in Australia, at oaic.gov.au.
8. Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to an individual whose personal information is involved, the publisher will assess it promptly and notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
9. Children
This site is not directed at children, and it is not designed for or marketed to people under 16. No information is collected from anyone, including children, through the site. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information by email to the contact address, they may ask for it to be deleted at info@lumosnetwork.online and it will be.
10. European and United Kingdom readers
MSMM-SOU s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic and is therefore subject to the General Data Protection Regulation for its processing. The legal basis relied on is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f): keeping security and diagnostic server logs so the website can be operated safely, and reading and answering correspondence sent to the publisher. No consent basis is relied on, because the site sets no cookies and performs no tracking of any kind, so there is nothing for a reader to consent to.
Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, including the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Requests go to info@lumosnetwork.online. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, which for the Czech Republic is the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (Office for Personal Data Protection).
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new effective date at the top, and the previous effective date is replaced. Any change that would introduce tracking, cookies or data collection of any kind would be published here, and the mechanism required to obtain consent would be in place before any such collection began. Readers are encouraged to check the effective date above, since there is no mailing list through which changes could be announced.
